Full Job Description

WWC Federal, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is currently seeking a Senior Drupal Developer to support USAID's Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI). USAID/OTI is a fast-paced, dynamic organization that supports U.S. foreign policy objectives by helping local partners advance peace and democracy by providing fast, flexible, short-term assistance targeted at key political transition and stabilization needs supported by custom systems. In these positions, you will have the opportunity to build new web applications; as well as maintain current applications using the latest frameworks and technologies available to achieve desired business outcomes. You will build custom web applications to user specifications while working with other developers on the team. OTI is a fast-paced, exciting office where you will have the opportunity to be part of an elite team on the cutting edge of emerging issues around the world. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Build custom web applications to user specifications while working with other developers on the team - Produce project solutions within the System Development Life Cycle (SLDC) through working sessions with the IT team and key stakeholders. 
  • Support concurrent initiatives specific to infrastructure and software development - Maintain technical documentation for new and existing applications. 
  • Assist in the development of JavaScript/Drupal functionality using contributed modules - Create custom modules - Develop Application Program Interfaces (APIs) relating to decoupled apps and/or service-oriented architectures. 
  • Perform quality control on all deliverables to ensure product releases are fully documented.
  • Participate in the design of test plans.
  • Support the installation of software components in testing and production environments.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work in confined areas.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Travel:

  • 0-10% / Minimal travel expected.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, computer engineering or related field //OR// additional 4 years of web development experience related to Drupal and PHP.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years of web development experience similar to the role requirements. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in Drupal development.
  • Proficiency with web development languages such as JavaScript, PHP, HTML5/CSS - Proven competency with JavaScript frameworks (iQuery, Backbone, React etc).
  • Experience with ticketing and version control services such as Jira, Bitbucket, Github - Experience with Object-Oriented-Programming and the ability to adhere to coding and documentation standards - Knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, Continuous Integration (e.g. Jenkins).
  • Ability to adapt to new programming languages, methodologies, and platforms.
  • Expert proficiency level in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current, active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience working in LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL-MariaDB/PHP) stack. 
  • Experience with ticketing and version control services, e.g. Jira, Bitbucket/Github.
  • Experience with Drupal 7 and 8 and headless Drupal implementation.
  • Experience with user interface design.
  • Proficiency in creating user flows, intuitive navigation, and seamless digital experiences.
  • Expertise in branding, typography, color theory, wireframing, and prototyping.
