Security Clearance:
This position requires a current DOE Q or DoD Top Secret security clearance.
THIS IS A MOSTLY-REMOTE POSITION WITH SOME TRAVEL.
In its majority, work will be performed remotely, from the employee's place of residence. Pre-planned travel to Amarillo, Texas, for on-site interaction, support, and training will be required up to 15% of the time.
Compensation Range: $155,000 - $190,000 / Year
Global Engineering and Technology (GET) is seeking qualified applicants for Security Architect to join our team as part of a cybersecurity program supporting the United States Department of Energy (DOE). This is a highly compensated, high-responsibility technical guidance position that is central to our mission's success. This is a full-time position as a GET employee with paid leave and benefits.
The Security Architect is responsible for engineering artifacts inclusive of architectures, functional decomp positions and definitions, and supporting preliminary and detailed design review documentation. This individual designs enterprise and systems security throughout the development lifecycle and translates technology and environmental conditions (e.g., law and regulation) into security designs and processes.

Required abilities (as demonstrated by technical expertise and certification, where applicable):
- Document and address information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle.
- Ensure that acquired or developed system(s) and architecture(s) are consistent with the organization's cybersecurity architecture guidelines.
- Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan.
- Define and document how the implementation of a new system or new interfaces between systems impacts the security posture of the current environment.
- Evaluate security architectures and designs to determine the adequacy of security design and architecture proposed or provided in response to requirements contained in acquisition documents.
- Determine the security controls for the information system(s) and network(s) and document appropriately.
- Develop Enterprise Information Technology (IT) requirements that describe baseline and target systems involving cybersecurity and privacy principles.
- Skilled in managing, testing, and implementing current security architectures for operating systems, networks, cybersecurity analysis tools, and related IT systems.
- Involved in a wide range of cybersecurity areas, including system architectures, firewalls, inspection and analysis tools, encryption components, and networking architectures. Involved in security reporting and analysis to regulatory agencies.
- Identify systemic security issues based on the analysis of vulnerability and configuration data; apply secure system design tools, methods, and techniques.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and recognize vulnerabilities in security systems.
- Apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation).
Required skills and experience (as demonstrated by technical expertise and certification, where applicable):
- 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including at least 5 years performing hands-on security architecture development (directly relevant advanced degrees may be considered partly in lieu of direct experience).
- Proven ability for engineering artifacts inclusive of architectures, functional decomp positions and definitions, and supporting preliminary and detailed design review documentation.
