Job Description: As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a vital role in the healthcare team, providing specialized care to patients with respiratory conditions. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients, developing treatment plans, administering medications, and educating patients and their families on managing respiratory conditions. You'll work closely with physicians and nurses to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments of patients with respiratory disorders, including obtaining patient histories and conducting diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Administer respiratory treatments and therapies, such as oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Monitor patients' responses to treatments and adjust therapy plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including code blue calls, and provide life-saving interventions as necessary.
  • Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly in medical records.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
