IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is seeking an experienced Remote Sr. Application/Systems Analyst to support our VA-ESOM—End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract across the United States. A Senior Applications/System Analyst must have extensive IT experience in the analysis, design, and integration of information systems and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and development software. Must be well versed in understanding structured analysis and design methodologies for the translation of systems requirements from business needs with a proven track record. Must be able to evaluate cost factors and risk.
Work location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States. Candidates must be able to travel as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to enhance Event Management (EM) capabilities. The goal is to provide “eyes on glass” monitoring, which entails 24x7x365 real-time surveillance and security support. This involves continuous dashboard monitoring, in-depth alert analysis, and early detection capabilities.
- Notify system owners of issues detected by monitoring tools to maintain optimal system health, typically within 15 minutes.
- Assess the current VA monitoring environment and propose targeted improvements to enhance functionality and efficiency and forward mitigation strategies to VA for approval.
- Assist in refining the monitoring processes and ensuring the robustness of the VA’s application infrastructure.
- Provide application performance monitoring to ensure that bedrock and critical applications, services, and technology systems meet established expectations for optimized performance, availability, and a consistent end-user experience.
- Provide industry expertise and troubleshooting knowledge transfer for the use of monitoring tools to find the root cause(s) of performance issues.
- Provide knowledge to helpdesk staff and Information Technology Specialist (ITS) staff on the use of monitoring diagnostic tools to pinpoint production issues.
- Recommend policies and procedures in response to incidents and alerts.
- Provide after-action analysis of major incidents identifying the impact.
- Recommend standards, policies, and procedures related to the use of application performance monitoring and availability in the pre-production and production environments for Government approval
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
- 5 years of relevant Experience
- 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
- Experience monitoring and analyzing application performance, desktop performance, and availability monitoring/reporting using available tools such as, AppDynamics monitoring tools, Orion SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Splunk, Science Logic (SL1) monitoring, and other performance monitoring tools as required.
- Ability to serve as a subject matter expert (SMEs) for application performance monitoring tools (as mentioned above) for new and onboarded applications, services, and provide onboard presentations during routine health checks
- US Citizen or Green card holder
- Willing to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability clearance
