Private Wealth Services Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a skilled Trusts and Estates Associate to join a prestigious law firm’s Washington, D.C. office. This associate will support an estate partner in probate administration, drafting estate documents, and preparing estate and gift tax returns for high-net-worth clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle probate administration, including drafting petitions and accountings.
• Administer trusts and prepare federal and state estate tax returns.
• Draft complex estate planning documents.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school; LLM in Taxation preferred (or willingness to pursue).
• Licensed to practice in Washington, D.C.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in estate administration and planning in the DC-MD-VA region.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and estate tax software.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills.

Compensation

• Annual salary range: $235,000 - $260,000 (specific to D.C. location; may vary by experience).
