Patent Development and Strategy Attorney

Direct Counsel is currently seeking a Patent Development and Strategy Attorney for to join a top law firm in their offices in Boston, Philadelphia, DC, Reston, San Diego, Palo Alto, or Seattle. The successful candidate will play a key role in patent prosecution, client counseling, drafting patent applications, providing freedom to operate opinions, and conducting due diligence.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Provide strategic client counseling on intellectual property matters.
• Draft and prepare patent applications in accordance with legal standards.
• Perform freedom to operate analyses and provide opinions.
• Conduct due diligence related to intellectual property issues.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement effective patent strategies.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Chemical engineering or chemistry degree.
• Licensed to practice in the state in which they are officed.
• Admission to the USPTO is required.
• Strong academic background from a nationally recognized school.
• Prior experience in a large or mid-sized law firm is preferred.

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $375,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
