Full Job Description
MANUAL is a mental health and personal development platform built specifically for young men, with a mission to inspire men to become the best versions of themselves. The platform includes hours of evidence-based, self-help content and anonymous text coaching; these core features are supported by wraparound interventions, including livestreams, newsletters, and social media. MANUAL’s expert team covers a range of topics designed to help users improve different areas of their lives, including: Mental Health, Personal Finance, Fitness, and more.
One of MANUAL’s core features is the Men's Coach chats, where trained Men’s Coaches facilitate meaningful and anonymous conversations with students and connect them to the necessary resources. Men’s Coaches will also be responsible for facilitating in-person recruitment with students and preparing for recruitment (e.g., designing flyers).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate anonymous, prompt, and consistent conversations with students, ensuring a safe and supportive environment as a MANUAL Men’s Coach
- Facilitate in-person recruitment to encourage students to utilize MANUAL’s platform, including travel as needed (travel expenses will be covered by MANUAL)
- Lead virtual meetings with students and student groups to introduce MANUAL’s platform
- Participate in trainings funded by MANUAL, including Mental Health First Aid, LivingWorks ASIST Training, and more
- Support student success by participating in ad hoc activities
- Participate as a full team member (e.g., attending weekly team meetings)
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student well-being and confidentiality
- Flexibility and a team player attitude
- Prior coaching or mentoring experience with high-school to college-aged students is a plus, but not mandatory
