RP is seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Architect with the strategic vision and experience needed to lead the agency’s infrastructure to the next level, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and ready to meet evolving business demands.
This position is contingent upon the contract award
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Architecture Leadership:
- Oversee and manage the IT infrastructure architecture, ensuring alignment with the agency’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
- Provide architectural oversight for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid IT environments, prioritizing modern, secure, and efficient solutions.
Design and Development:
- Create detailed architecture and implementation roadmaps that align with the agency’s operational needs and modernization goals.
- Define architectural standards for complex IT environments, ensuring scalability, security, and performance optimization.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Demonstrate superior oral and written communication skills, providing clear guidance on infrastructure designs to diverse stakeholders.
- Collaborate with leadership, technical teams, and project managers to address architectural challenges and align on project objectives.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Maintain compliance with federal IT standards, including FISMA, NIST, and DevSecOps principles.
- Oversee the implementation of quality controls across the IT infrastructure lifecycle, ensuring PBGC’s architecture meets stringent performance and security requirements.
Requirements
Required Certifications:
- ITIL® v4 Foundation or Practitioner
- DevSecOps Foundation (from the DevOps Institute)
Experience:
- 10-20 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology roles, including at least 5 years as a lead or senior IT infrastructure architect.
- Prior experience as a lead or senior IT architect in a similarly complex federal or large-scale environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degrees in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven expertise in communicating technical infrastructure designs effectively in both oral and written forms.
- A track record of successful architecture design in complex environments, demonstrating a strong understanding of modern infrastructure technologies, DevSecOps practices, and federal IT compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Government, VMware ESXi, Office 365, Power Platform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Advanced knowledge in network and telephony infrastructure, storage, and database administration.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, DevOps, and agile development practices.
