Infrastructure Engineer

We have an opening for a full-time Infrastructure Engineer to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

Infrastructure Engineer will support Maveris by providing technical and programmatic support services to include development, maintenance, enterprise architecture, and administrative engineering support. The role will support Maveris programs with a focus on the Red Team infrastructure that support red team operations against the Department of Veterans Affairs. 

As an Infrastructure Engineer supporting Maveris programs, you will be trusted to support secure environments, operations, with infrastructure and tools from cloud environments. In this role, a typical day will include:  

Infrastructure: 

• Designing and architecting cloud-based solutions to include AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, etc.). 

• Creating and managing infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. 

• Ensuring infrastructure adheres to best practices, security standards, and compliance requirements. 

Infrastructure Deployment 

• Deploying and configuring cloud resources (primarily AWS) using automation tools.

• Automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management. 

• Managing and optimizing cloud costs. 

• Work closely with development, operations, and Red Teams to ensure that security requirements are understood and implemented as required. 

Infrastructure Management 

• Managing Cybersecurity tools and the environments they interface with. 

• Monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure and network performance. 

• Implementing and managing backup and recovery strategies. 

• Patching and updating systems and resources. 

• Responding to and resolving infrastructure incidents. 

• Provide guidance and training to Red Team personnel as needed.  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System Architecture, Telecommunication System, Design or related discipline - equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.  
• 5 years relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience in creating, maintaining, and securing cloud infrastructures, primarily AWS required (Azure knowledge is a plus).
• Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and network security. 
• Experience with security hardening Linux and Windows systems.  
• Proficiency in automation scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, etc.) and experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef). 
• Knowledge of modern DevSecOps practices (CI/CD, microservices, serverless architectures). 
• Knowledge of DevSecOps Tools and Technology including Docker. 
• Knowledge of AI/ML applications in cybersecurity.
