We are looking for a dynamic and versatile Graphic Design Specialist (GDS) specializing in strategic communications to join our team! Under the direct supervision of Strategic Communications Task Lead, this individual contributor role will have responsibility for creating and revising professional-grade graphics, motion graphics, and prototypes in a highly collaborative virtual team environment. This includes converting working drafts of marketing materials for digital, web and print needs using Adobe InDesign and the Adobe Creative Suite. You’ll frequently collaborate with team members and leadership alike to ensure internal and external feedback is implemented in a timely manner. You should have experience producing 508-compliant products or be willing to learn quickly. This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role in which your passion for mission-driven work and top-notch graphic design and development knowledge, skills, and abilities will be a great driver of your overall success. Responsibilities:

    • Develop graphics prototypes and supporting marketing materials  
    • Use Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop to produce professional marketing graphics, including but not limited to infographics, one-pagers, and flyers
    • Create custom motion graphics and assets  
    • Assist in the development of vector graphics and designs that can be embedded in video or standalone assets (e.g., infographics or iconography)  
    • Utilize client and internal feedback to quickly create and revise graphics deliverables 
    • Coordinate with managers to create training sessions to cross-train other team members and outside teams in PowerPoint and other graphic design best practices 
    • Support products for other workstreams, as required 
    • Ensure alignment of style, branding, and other graphical norms across multiple products and modalities for a consistent product suite
    • Proactively track and communicate project status with supervisor, including potential mitigation strategies for when risks jeopardize deliverable timelines 
    • Deliver all final deliverables and intermediate drafts on time and accurately
    • Attend internal coordination meetings as needed to present relevant updates in a factual, concise manner

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required, preferably in graphic design or related field 
    • Ability to provide portfolio of work 
    • Minimum three years’ experience designing graphics and using graphic design software 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint 
    • Expert in Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and the Adobe Creative Suite 
    • ·Proficient in animation and video production/editing tools. 
    • Working familiarity with the use of project management software such as Asana (or Jira, Smart Sheets, etc.) 
    • Able to obtain a minimum of NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) for a Veterans Affairs Public Trust Clearance

  • Government contracting experience  

Desired Skills:

  • DoD and VA experience as a contractor or otherwise  

CATHEXIS offers competitive compensation packages to all eligible employees. Our goal is to provide a compensation package that reflects the value you bring to our team, is competitive with national average market rates, and promotes your financial security and personal well-being. The annual salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000. Please note that the salary information provided is a general guideline. CATHEXIS considers various factors in its final offer, including location, qualifications, experience, and skills.
