FOIA Analyst

Aretum, a well-established government contracting company, is currently looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented FOIA Analyst to join our team. As a FOIA Analyst at Aretum, you will play a crucial role in managing and responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests from various sources.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze FOIA requests to determine the scope and nature of the information being sought
• Conduct thorough research and investigations to locate and retrieve the requested information
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all FOIA requests and responses
• Ensure compliance with FOIA regulations and guidelines
• Prepare and draft responses to FOIA requests
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather and compile the required information
• Provide guidance and assistance to requestors regarding the FOIA process
• Stay updated on changes in FOIA regulations and best practices

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
• Prior experience working as a FOIA Analyst or in a similar role
• Excellent research and investigative skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks
• Proficient in using relevant software and tools
• Understanding of government contracting and legal procedures is a plus
