UCS’s Membership Program/Development Department
Reporting to the Membership Director, the Digital Fundraising Coordinator exists to ensure the effective functioning of online activities on behalf of the Membership and other Development teams, including timely, responsive, and strategic updates and fundraising appeals to UCS donor and prospect audiences. The Coordinator also stays abreast of current industry trends and offers tactical and strategic guidance to assure that UCS's Development Department's online presence is effectively working to fulfill the Department's and UCS's goals. This position is a primary liaison to UCS Communications staff, relevant Program, Policy, and Advocacy staff, and outside strategic vendors to ensure consistency in messaging and scheduling compatibility of Development online efforts within organizational online activities. The coordinator is a skilled CRM (constituent relationship management) database user, partnering with the Development Data Operations and Central Data Operations teams to request relevant donor giving data and to establish tracking codes for marketing campaigns, as well as maintain other consistent data routines in the CRM database of record and digital marketing platform. This position requires extra attention to detail, works closely with digital marketing consultants to assure quality of email, digital advertising, SMS, and web-based development campaigns across complex audience segmentation routines.
Responsibilities
Coordinate digital fundraising and donor cultivation strategies
• In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including digital strategy vendors, implement digital fundraising and cultivation strategies and tactics that retain current UCS members and attract new members.
• Work within Digital marketing platform to create donation forms and produce most outgoing Development-related standalone email campaigns and SMS messages. Coordinate and maintain UCS’s automated email and SMS series.
• Review and assure quality of digital copy and design prior to launch to ensure fundraising emails, digital advertisements, web pages, SMS messages, and other digital communications are fact-checked with relevant program staff, proofed to comport with Communications style guidelines, content is aligned with organizational messaging, and that appropriate versions of messages are sent to the correct donor/supporter segments.
• Ensure that URLs used in direct mail packages are functioning and re-direct to the correct web page, confirming with Associate Director of Membership that relevant links are up to date.
• Contribute to annual workplans for the Membership team and help develop yearly revenue and membership goals for digital channels, including reporting back regularly.
Implement other digital development and brand-related strategies
• Coordinate with Development Database Operations and Membership teams to ensure that donors are properly acknowledged online for online giving.
• In partnership with Stewardship and Engagement team, support the management and implementation Development event invitation email processes, including setting up invitations, registration pages, confirmation pages, and auto-responder emails as needed.
• Coordinate with the Planned Giving team in scheduling, writing, and launching emails.
• Coordinate updates and maintenance of UCS web pages and social media as they pertain to development department needs and requests.
• Coordinate marketing of the UCS storefront and merchandising, as a discount is a benefit for all UCS Members.
Inform UCS digital activities through analysis, liaison relationships, and industry trends
• Work with digital strategy vendors and Communications teams to inform messaging strategies as relevant, by sharing insights from donors and front-line fundraising staff, and conveying key messaging priorities from Membership team and Development department.
• Relay relevant information relating to communications and digital strategies to relevant Development teams to help ensure transparent and timely communication.
• Stay abreast of trends in online marketing, including social media platforms and especially as used by peer organizations; report back to Development staff on trends and new opportunities, and advocate for tactics that hold the promise for highest results.
Execute CRM database and technical administration routines
• Serve as an in-house expert for database routines related to digital marketing platform, training and providing insights to internal and external stakeholders and onboarding staff on an ongoing basis.
• Select audiences and build lists and segments in digital marketing platform; working with UCS’s Development Database Operations and Central Database Operations teams to request relevant donor data from CRM for incorporation in digital marketing campaigns as appropriate.
• In partnership with Development Database Operations staff, ensure that CRM appeal and package codes are properly assigned to web gift forms and digital campaigns.
• Develop documentation for both database and other routine-based work to build long-term knowledge-base for the Membership team and Development department

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Position requires 2 years’ experience working at a comparable level with relevant experience. Experience and demonstrated ability to develop effective fundraising messages is desired. Ability to work with data and reports that provide management and staff with actionable marketing intelligence is desired. Experience working with a CRM database, and technical set up of web giving and/or storefront forms, HTML emails, and list pulls using a digital marketing platform such as EveryAction is strongly desired. Willingness and ability to learn sophisticated digital marketing and database tools is required. A capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines, good interpersonal skills, and excellent organizational skills are essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team required. Outstanding attention to detail is essential. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required.
Will require extended periods at computer. Travel may be required up to 3 times per year for conferences and staff events.

This is a full-time remote position. For those who meet all position requirements, the salary range is $65,081 to $73,210. UCS offers excellent benefits and a rewarding work environment. *CA Resident Only, we offer a 12% salary differential*
