H2 Performance Consulting (H2) is seeking a Data Center Engineer. This position is responsible for supporting data center critical infrastructure technical requirements determination, evaluation, development, provide DC critical infrastructure projects acquisition, implementation and successful completion technical oversight. Responsibilities include evaluating contractor proposals against project requirements, ensuring contractor submission adherence to government acquisition processes and tools. Provide technical support and expertise to data center infrastructure operations and maintenance risk identification, issues mitigation, and opportunities development. Provide IT Service Management (ITSM), oversight to contractor managing DC non-IT systems, and ensuring physical security measures.
The Data Center O&M Engineer responsibilities will include:
· Project Requirement Analysis: Analyze technical project requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications, ensuring alignment with client needs and government regulations.
· Government Acquisition: Understand and navigate the government acquisition process, including procurement procedures, documentation, and compliance requirements.
· Project Planning: Understand comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, taking into account all aspects of data center infrastructure projects.
· Infrastructure Implementation: Technical oversight of contractor implementation of data center infrastructure projects, including the installation and configuration of critical infrastructure systems, hardware, software, and networking components.
· Data Center Operations and Maintenance: Technical oversight of contractor management and optimization of data center operations and maintenance, ensuring high availability, reliability, and efficiency. Recommend routine maintenance and upgrades as needed.
· IT Service Management (ITSM): Implement and adhere to ITSM best practices, including incident, change, and problem management processes to ensure seamless service delivery.
· Non-IT Systems: Manage and maintain non-IT systems within the data center, such as power distribution, HVAC, and environmental monitoring systems.
· Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with data center operations and projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of data center configurations, changes, and procedures. Generate regular reports for management and clients.
· Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of data center projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum SECRET clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related Equivalent experience.
- Must have DoD 8570 qualifying certification. (Security + CE; CISSP)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center engineering and project management.
- Strong understanding of government acquisition processes and tools.
- Proficiency in data center infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL.
- Knowledge of non-IT systems within data centers, including power and cooling systems.
- Experience in physical security planning and implementation is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
