Looking for someone to work in the data space, but primary role would be a data analyst When we say data analyst, we want someone who can still write business requirements- talking to clients (internal to ifc) and getting requirements, but the way we collect requirements for data solutions would be slightly different Getting requirements for building data solutions- data warehouse solutions, data mart, etc
· Second part- these roles would have to be able to look at data and understand it- not just taking requirements, understand meaning and connect the dots to make recommendations
Financial space exp- accounting, loan servicing, etc- general financial domain knowledge because immediate role would be involving treasury data sets, would be very hard for them to understand data otherwise
Lastly, want person who has good analytical/problem solving skills
Capital markets/wealth management type background is good here
SQL, in house oracle Exadata (on prem) but moving to the cloud, if they have that skill set on azure that’s good but not required
Not modeling etc but need to be able to understand and write sql queries
· Currently responsible for all data analysis for account data- loan and equity accounting, info on treasury data sets, etc
· Want someone who is data savvy- is comfortable using sql, querying databases, analytically minded
· Understanding of financial concepts
· Nothing out of the ordinary- predominately oracle databases, got sql skills to start with- core sql skills, are they effective at manipulating data
· Power BI would be preferable- but not looking for a developer, looking for someone to understand source data. A lot of end users are switching to be able to build their own reports, but they will be more data savvy—being able to work with our business, have an ability to understand where data is coming from in organization
· Process oriented- creating artifacts, working with offshore team to facilitate development
· Want someone who has worked in some sort of financial company and environment
· Will be extended for full 7 years
· Nice to haves: any person who is data savvy
Requirements
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum 7+ yrs. of relevant experience and master's degree plus required industry certificates; or bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience.
- Experienced IT professional working on large data and reporting applications as well a strong understanding of Operational data stores, Data Warehouses and/or Data Marts.
- Should have participated in data implementation efforts with exposure to relational database concepts, ETL fundamentals, transaction processing, and testing protocols.
- Shows an understanding of data management concepts – data quality, data lineage, data lifecycle, master/reference data management, metadata management.
- Ability to understand the meaning of the data and work cohesively with business to leverage it for better and advanced insights. Domain knowledge with accounting and financial data sets is essential.
- Has strong analytic, problem solving and logical reasoning skills with high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Proficient in the use of PL/SQL and ability to read data models, infer data flows and write complex queries.
- Experience with reporting tools (like Power BI, SAP BO, Tableau).
- Excellent skills in analyzing data, gathering requirements, and working with clients and technical teams to translate requirements into solution.
- Familiarity in using agile tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Strong project management skills with a process orientation (understand problem, do analysis, interview stakeholders, write requirements, get sign off, hand off to dev, coordinate UAT etc.) and ability to leverage Agile concepts.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals.
The scope of work and activities include the following:
- Capture data, reporting and analytic requirements for financial data sets which include Financial investment Operations Data, loan and equity accounting data sets, financial expenses and revenue data, treasury data and other financial data sets.
- Perform data analysis, data lineage, and profiling of data from source system to data repositories and reports. Responsible for data mapping to any “to-be” data structures.
- Create specifications for Reporting requirements and work with business users to elicit hidden requirements and clarify vague requirements, as well as ensure sign offs on requirements.
- Interact with technical teams and guide offshore development resources to help translate requirements into solutions. Responsible for providing functional and technical guidance to the development team.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing of reports and data driven solutions by working with the business users.
- Assist the Program Managers with tracking work program deliverables using the appropriate SDLC methodologies including Agile Scrum.
- Manage daily technical challenges and communicates to management any risks or issues.
Develop, manage, and maintain processes, procedures, and documentation for handover to application support
