Cybersecurity Project Manager

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Cybersecurity Project Manager to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.   

The Cybersecurity Project Manager will play a pivotal role in our team's success on a large Federal Government SOC contract for the Department of Veteran's Affairs. In this role, they will oversee and coordinate all project activities related to the VA's Cloud Security, working closely with the leads of various security and compliance teams. This role involves planning, executing, and tracking project tasks and milestones, ensuring alignment with the initiative’s objectives, and adherence to deadlines and budget constraints.

Duties

In this role, a typical day will include: 

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, encompassing all cloud security and compliance activities. 
• Coordinate efforts among different task leads to ensure cohesive execution and communication. 
• Facilitate regular project meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and plan future actions. 
• Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and adjusting as necessary. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications with stakeholders, including VA leadership. 
• Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, including progress made, challenges encountered, and paths to resolution. 
• Ensure compliance with VA’s cloud security architecture requirements and other relevant standards and policies. 
• Support risk management and mitigation planning, identifying potential issues and proactive solutions. 

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred 
• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within Federal Government IT contracts
• Program and project management certifications are a plus (CAPM, PMP, CSM, CSPO, etc.)  
• Strong understanding of project management principles, task tracking and coordination, and project reporting requirements
• Proficient with program/project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft SharePoint, Planner, Project, and Teams
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and federal IT security regulations (CISA, DISA) is preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills 
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills 
• Strong people skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team of peers
