Location: Washington DC, hybrid role. This role requires someone to be in the office about 3-4 days a week.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team and oversee our finance operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about process improvement and financial oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Supervision: Oversee and mentor a dedicated bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial transactions and reporting.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Transaction Management: Handle a high volume of transactions related to rental properties and development/construction projects.
- Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports and analysis for management, providing insights into financial performance and trends.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and tax filings.
- System Management: Utilize and maintain QuickBooks to manage financial data effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience for 6+ as an Accounting Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience working in Accounting in the real estate or construction industry is bonus
