Auria is looking to hire a System Engineer Team Lead to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. The primary work location is in either Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.
The team lead is the first line of leadership for all SE Architecture team members and reports to the SE Engineering Manager. Is responsible for maintaining accurate metrics of team progress. Supports all team staffing responsibilities, including interviewing new candidates, dealing with team performance issues, and supporting team member growth and development. Is also expected to be technically competent in all of the work performed by the team such that they can act as a reviewer of products to ensure quality. Is responsible for defining and ensuring compliance with SE Architecture team processes. Some travel is required.
Essential Functions:
- Must understand systems engineering, architecture, systems design, development, and integration
- Experience working across organizations to define solutions
- Ability to Analyze high-level needs and use a structured and logical approach to refine those needs into an integrated set of requirements that leads to a fielded product being desired
- Working directly with multiple customer organizations and contractor organizations is a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
Basic Qualifications:

- Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance, which is required to start.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience
- or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience,
- or a PhD and 4 years of experience,
- or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Understand systems engineering processes and principles and have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions
- Experience developing system engineering artifacts:
- Specifications
- Interface Control Documents
- Use Cases
- System Architecture Descriptions
- Trade Studies
- Experience applying and using systems engineering tools for requirements management and Object-Oriented requirements definition (e.g., DOORS)
- Experience working in an integrated team environment with system, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions
- Engineering leadership, identifying and defining desired capabilities and fielding new capabilities
- System-of-system definition, integration practices, and methods, communicating the desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users
- Agile Iteration Planning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using C2BMC processes and methods is desirable
- Knowledge of C2BMC architecture and implementation is preferred
- Experience in Ballistic Missile defense is highly desired
- Leading/performing portions of the work and directing the activities of other systems engineers is also desired
Salary Range:The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level ($124,000 - $137,000).
