SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented IT Operations Manager to join our IT team in Boulder, CO.[DJS1] [DR2]   Successful applicants will have demonstrated experience aligning infrastructure engineering teams with operational and strategic organizational goals, a deep technical hands-on keyboard background, a strong collaborative spirit, experience successfully mentoring high-functioning technical teams, superior leadership skills, and a clear focus on supporting customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Define operational IT KPIs necessary to support the operational tempo of development teams delivering software releases to meet customer needs
  • Define success criteria for projects that scale IT platforms to meet and exceed company requirements for production
  • Manage project details and communicate status on a routine basis to management and other stakeholders
  • Define, establish, and maintain current and comprehensive plans to restore platforms to full operations if service is interrupted
  • Generate and maintain documentation that reflects baselines of major systems and systems categories
  • Manage and lead team members in connecting their daily efforts to support the company priorities through IT platforms and services
  • Coordinating engineering efforts among different teams throughout the technology stack including hardware, operating system, virtual technology, network, storage and security
  • Mentor team members and provide guidance on training and skill set development
  • Lead the collaboration efforts with other organizations within the company in delivering the optimal IT platforms and customer service. Other organizations include Service Desk, Information Assurance, Program Management and Software Development
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science and 7+ years of experience performing relevant IT project management in midsize or large organizations
  • Expertise in RedHat Linux Operating System tailoring, installation, and support
  • Expertise with server and workstation base image definition
  • Experience designing testing and analyzing server base images to support customer requirements
    • Confirm the designed servers meet customer requirements through testing and analysis
  • Experience right sizing servers and workstations to customer program specific applications
  • Expertise in VMWare, Docker/Podman/containers, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using automation and virtual platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deconflict competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and operate within Governance and Risk Management processes and policies
  • Organizational and mentoring skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

The pay range for this position is $128,000- $172,600 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
