The Operations Group

The Operations Group is made up of a diverse group managing, maintaining, and executing on a variety of functions. At SparkFun, Operations includes Supply Chain, Finance, Data Analytics, HR, Facilities, Production, Shipping, Warehouse, and the Front Desk. Our team is dedicated to executing at a high level across the board to fulfill new opportunities.

SparkFun's Next Front Desk Receptionist

The Front Desk Receptionist will be the first point of contact for SparkFun's clients, customers, and visitors as well as our tenant's clients and visitors. This position will be greeting and supporting customers and visitors as well as answering and directing calls, responding to some customer inquiries, managing and delivering mail, ordering and stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet and welcome visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Manage Local Pick-ups for on-site customers
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate person, department, or tenant.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, courier services, and deliveries.
  • Answer basic customer support questions including, but not limited to: shipping information, tracking numbers, adding items to orders, etc
  • Maintain a clean and tidy reception area and surrounding areas
  • Ensure all office supplies are stocked.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry.
  • Assist in planning and organizing company events, travel, and, occasionally, meetings & appointments for other employees

Requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience as a Receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Willingness to help out in other functions, as needed
