Our dynamic marketing team is the creative powerhouse behind the boohoo brand, driving innovative campaigns and strategies that captivate our global audience. Over the past 12 months, our team has successfully launched multiple high-impact campaigns that have significantly boosted our brand visibility and customer engagement. The team is structured into specialised units focusing on content creation, digital marketing, brand marketing, talent management and social media, all working cohesively to ensure our brand remains at the forefront of the fashion industry.

The role

YAs the Marketing Director for the USA, you will lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy in the US, ensuring it aligns with our global vision. Your goal is to enhance brand equity, drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, and achieve key marketing KPIs. Success in this role looks like innovative, high-performing campaigns that elevate our brand presence and contribute to our commercial growth. You’ll be personable, a seasoned leader, and passionate about women’s fashion and the US market. You’ll have existing relationships with key suppliers across the region, with experience working across the media and celebrity landscape in the USA. You will be based in our LA Showroom and you will oversee the renovation and launch of our new Showroom location, alongside our revitalised USA marketing strategy. At times this role will be required to travel throughout the US, to the UK and potentially elsewhere.

What you'll be doing

Market Knowledge

  • Develop and deliver the boohoo marketing strategy for the USA in alignment with the global strategy, and defining local customer profiles.
  • Ensure adherence to global brand equity and vision across the market.
  • Create engaging campaigns that stand out in the global landscape, disrupt the women’s fashion landscape and create buzz.
  • You’ll have experience in negotiating mid to large-scale celebrity and media partnerships, and confidence in existing relationships.
  • Execute and manage branded content rollout across multiple platforms.
  • Seek innovative brand-led opportunities to enhance brand affinity, remain nimble and proactive and lead in this area across key US geographical focuses.
  • Stay updated on competitor activities and market trends in particular across social media.

Commercial Awareness

  • Responsible for defining and executing marketing strategy including all required marketing investment across the USA for boohoo.
  • Own and achieve all Marketing KPIs and metrics across Brand and Performance in collaboration with our UK based Head of Digital Marketing.
  • Utilise data to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Strong negotiator with a creatively commercial mind.
  • Analyse trading patterns and respond to sales reactions.
  • Drive customer acquisition through collaborations and PR activities.
  • Manage accurate project-level budgets.

Communication & Influence

  • Report key information in trading meetings with Heads of and Directors based in UK.
  • Represent the USA in Executive meetings.
  • Coordinate with the PR team and our US PR agency to leverage influencer and celebrity opportunities.
  • Manage the US marketing calendar and coordinate with other departments.
  • Influencer US social media strategy and reputation enhancement.

People & Team

  • Inspire and empower the team to leverage emerging trends.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline and nurture future talent.
  • Collaborate with the Brand and Creative team on creative consistency.
  • Cultivate relationships with target media and represent the brand at industry events.

The ideal candidate will come from a fast paced, marketing environment and will have gained experience in a comparable role where you are coordinating activity across all areas of marketing and will have a good track record of delivering ROI on marketing spend.

You should be tenacious, adept at managing teams, self-motivated and able to communicate effectively at all levels with an inquisitive and innovative approach.

Good communication skills are essential as is a flexible working approach. A positive attitude and pride in your work, showing attention to detail and quality control are essential.

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing role within the fashion industry.
  • Strong knowledge of brand marketing, social media, digital marketing and emerging trends.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Creative thinker with a track record of developing standout campaigns.
  • Strong budget management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
