Full Job Description
Teen Empowerment Advisor will provide direct services to youth between the ages of 11-18, implementing an 8-week Brent’s Club Curriculum. Through the power of education, youth will develop and understand of how they can make healthy choices. The Teen
Empowerment Advisor is responsible for the following key roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare Youth for Success
- Provide ongoing case management services for participants.
- Monitor participant’s activities and refer participants to relevant service partners to support achievement of individual goals.
- Maintain information tracking systems monitoring youth participation
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing year round programs for participants.
- Meet with school and district administrators on a monthly basis for feedback and communication.
- Represent the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard & Port Hueneme as a liaison with schools and district staff in areas of operation.
- Support selection, training and school counselors working with the program.
- Responsible for roundtable meetings for all school counselors on a monthly basis.
- Coordinate with school staff, including, principal, and director of development of the
- Brent’s Club Program.
- Coordinate with local agencies, community partners, and businesses to develop network to support the CETIP program.
- Expand community and family involvement and interest in programs services.
- Become involved in community programs to market and support the CETIP Program.
- Conduct training, remediation and surveys for participants entering the program.
- Maintain participants case management records including entry of surveys for duration of one year with each participant.
- Conduct follow up services for one year with all participants.
- Coordinate classroom-training services to include vouchering and monitoring of attendance.
- Assist client in setting goals.
- Perform all other business, educational, and community service duties as assigned.
Requirements
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in social services, counseling or related field
- Ability to motivate youth
- Ability to deal with the general public
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Demonstrated record of case management, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to deal with at-risk youth by using non-traditional delivery methods
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, youth, and other people encountered in the course of work
- Valid State Driver’s License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Supervise a group of youth and coordinate activities. A majority of time will be spent standing. Moderate lifting will be required from time to time.
Shift from 9:00am to 6:00pm
Monday to Friday
