Strategic Pursuits Transportation Lead

BKF Engineers is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Strategic Pursuits Lead to be a part of our growing team. We are seeking a self-driven candidate who specializes in the Transportation market as well as excels in meeting deadlines and collaborates effectively with diverse teams, including engineers, marketers, and designers, to produce persuasive and standout deliverables. This role is essential in driving our growth strategy and expanding our market presence through the development and execution of strategic marketing plans and proposals for major transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing plans and proposals for major transportation projects independently. Identify and analyze market trends, client needs, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including business development, project management, and technical experts, to develop compelling and competitive proposals.
• Manage the proposal process from inception to submission, ensuring high-quality and compliant deliverables.
• Foster and maintain relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
• Conduct go/no-go assessments and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
• Develop and present marketing strategies and proposal content to internal and external audiences.
• Conduct proposal kick-off meetings.
• RFP and RFQ review.
• QA/QC proposals.
• Lead and produce interviews.
• Maintain and produce team resumes and project descriptions.
• Track and report on marketing metrics, win rates, and market intelligence.
• Mentor and train junior staff in marketing and proposal best practices.
• Periodic travel between offices and other locations may be required.
• Occasional flexible working hours may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a marketing or proposal coordination role supporting transportation prime proposals.
• Demonstrated success in leading and winning proposals for transportation projects.
• Strong understanding of the transportation market, including highways, rail, transit, and aviation.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in proposal management software, InDesign, and other relevant software.

Location & Salary:

• BKF supports a healthy work-life balance and utilizes a hybrid model of home and office work. This position will be based out of any of the following offices: Walnut Creek, Santa Rosa, or Newport Beach. This position may be required to travel to other offices to physically appear as needed, for collaboration and growth opportunities. 
• The salary range for this position is anticipated to be $85,000 - $125,000 annually and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and performance.
