What we are looking for in you:

The ideal candidate for this role will be a strategic and dynamic salesperson with a proven ability to drive sustainable growth in the global defense sector. They will build strong relationships, analyze technology use cases, and identify opportunities to expand into new sectors. This individual will be accountable for developing and achieving ambitious sales targets, while overseeing international and domestic sales representatives. They will also work closely with General Oceans marketing to ensure a strong presence at trade shows and industry events, actively engaging with potential clients and stakeholders. Their leadership will be instrumental in driving SRS's growth and market presence.

Prior knowledge and experience with FUSION or similar platforms would be highly advantageous. The Sales Representative will be able to think critically, have excellent verbal and communication skills, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.

FLSA Status: Exempt 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full-Time.  Based on the job and travel requirements, work may be required on limited occasions on weekends and holidays.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Salary Range:  $85,000 - $115,000 Annually.  

Reporting to: Executive Vice President

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Implement the SRS strategy for sustainable sales growth in the global defense sector, collaborating with the EVP, VP of Strategy & Business Development, the broader General Oceans (GO) operating company's sales teams, and product development. 

• Develop a clear understanding of the company's existing client base, build relationships with them, and understand their use cases for our technology. 

• Seek opportunities across multiple sectors and grow the SRS customer base. 

• Develop appropriate sales projections and targets and be accountable for their delivery. 

• Actively monitor SRS international and domestic sales representatives and agents. 

• Work with GO marketing to identify and arrange relevant presence at trade shows, exhibitions, and events, actively participating. 

• Any other activities related to sales, business development, and customer relationships on behalf of SRS and other General Oceans businesses. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Reporting and Analysis 

The sales representative must ensure that accurate records and reports are maintained. 

Duties include: 

• Regular reporting of customer feedback, requirements, and plans to ensure a robust customer management and forecasting process across the team. 

• Record all HubSpot activity to accurately capture customer data, opportunities, latest prospects, inquiries, and orders. 

• Prepare regular sales reports and market analyses for senior management. 

• Analyze sales data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement. 

• Ensure that sales activities comply with company policies and legal regulations. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity.  

• Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships through mutual trust, transparency, and empathy. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including exceptional consulting skills, to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients. 

• Must be comfortable speaking to groups in various environments. 

• Achieve positive outcomes through a hands-on approach. 

• Knowledge of subsea products and associated engineering challenges.  

• Possess an understanding of strategic digital marketing and product planning. 

• Proficient in executing sales strategies that yield growth opportunities. 

• Adept at building and maintaining solid relationships with clients, stakeholders, and company leadership. 

• Proficiency with CRM software. 

• Can work competently, credibly, and professionally alone and in team settings. 

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 

• Detail-oriented and exercise ability to follow directions. 

• Highly proactive, self-motivated, and innovative. 

• Adept at managing and prioritizing a high volume of tasks with different time demands. 

• Must be technically proficient using Microsoft Office Suite. 

Education and Experience: 

• Experienced salesperson with demonstrable success in growing a sustainable pipeline in the sales of technology-based products.  

• A bachelor’s in business administration, marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience. 

• At least five years of relevant work experience in business development and sales pipeline growth. 

• CRM software experience and HubSpot skills are desirable. 

• Advanced Microsoft Office capabilities. 

Physical Requirements:  

• Ability to move or transport up to 60 pounds as needed. 

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.  

• Ability to be mobile as related to business needs. 

• The work site is the SRS office in San Diego, CA.  

• Reliable means of transportation to work. 

• Regular domestic and international travel is required up to 50% of the time. 

• Valid passport for international travel.
