Amprius develops, designs, and manufactures very high-performance lithium-ion cells for advanced applications. Amprius invented and perfected a 100% silicon anode which enables the highest energy density cell commercially available in the industry.
Summary
The Quality Inspector measures various attributes related to product quality and evaluates if the attributes conform to specified limits. This position is critical to identifying issues that may have an adverse effect on quality and customer satisfaction. This is a TEMP to PERM.
Job Responsibilities
- Measure specified features and review supplier documents of purchased components/materials
- Performs Final Inspections per work instructions and enters data into the production software.
- Evaluates measurement results against the specified tolerance to determine conformity.
- Work with Quality Engineers to perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and other Inspections.
- Measure and/or count inventory of production components, products, and materials.
- Perform qualitative visual inspections and evaluate against reference samples or photos to evaluate conformance.
- Communicate out of tolerance conditions to the applicable manager and write an NC (nonconformance) report when applicable.
- Raise concerns and effectively communicate when specifications are incomplete or appear incorrect.
- Determine the correct sample size for inspections
- Move inventory from pending inspection location to finished goods locations and make corresponding transaction in the production software.
- Operates more advanced metrology equipment like dimensional vision systems and cell testers.
- Performs other quality related tasks as deemed necessary.
Requirements
- Ability to select the appropriate measurement equipment.
- Ability to correctly operate measurement equipment such as weight scale, caliper, micrometer, and multimeter.
- Identifies issues and clearly communicates the problem to the appropriate person.
- Respectful and relatable to team members with a positive outlook.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Certified Quality Inspector (ASQ) or similar certificate preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and pay close attention to details.
Physical Demands & Work Location:
- Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
- Adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements.
- Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to coordinate timely shipping of orders.
