Are you an experienced and talented Director of Finance looking to advance your career? If so, Kooner Fleet Management Solutions wants you to join our growing team! This person will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of our fleet management operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring that we maintain financial health, compliance, and strategic growth. This role requires a seasoned finance professional with experience in the fleet management industry or a related field, who can lead our finance team, manage budgets, and drive financial performance. This position will be based out of our corporate office in Sacramento.

What the Director of Finance role looks like:

 

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
    • Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting to support the company’s growth and profitability.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to guide decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
    • Monitor and manage financial performance against budgets, identifying and addressing variances.
    • Prepare accurate forecasts, adjusting financial strategies as necessary.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Present financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Cash Flow and Capital Management:
    • Manage cash flow to ensure the company’s financial stability and operational efficiency.
    • Oversee capital expenditures and ensure optimal use of financial resources.
    • Develop strategies for funding growth initiatives, including potential mergers and acquisitions.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
    • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with other departments to drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure financial alignment across the organization.
    • Represent the finance department in executive meetings and contribute to overall business strategy.

What our ideal candidate looks like:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.
  • Experience in the fleet management or transportation industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a collaborative approach.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
