We have a current opening for a Director of Business Development for our Sacramento Area Market.
Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:
- Work closely with executive leadership team and vice presidents to develop market strategies that align to Royal’s operational growth.
- Input new contacts and document activity in Salesforce.
- Create and expand the commercial and multi-family market in Northern California. Reach out to new potential clients and work with existing clients.
- Review new market sectors in with leadership and have 50% or greater booked with blue green clients.
- Lead the implementation and execution of the business development strategy by pipeline management, building relationships and closing contracts.
- Research and analyze market trends, competitor activity and potential clients to develop a targeted business development strategy.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects and clients through proactive prospecting and networking.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Understand client needs and requirements and work closely with the internal team including estimating, project executives to develop tailored solutions and proposals.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the development of compelling proposals, presentations and presentations to secure business opportunities.
- Work directly with the marketing manager on marketing collateral needs.
- Provide business development acumen and leadership by mentoring and coaching others as needed.
- Cascade “sale culture” throughout the company for all markets and divisions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations and emerging opportunities within the electrical construction market.
- Provide regular reports and analysis on sales performance, market conditions and competitive positioning to inform strategic decision making.
- Collaborate with operations, support operations to ensure alignment and support for business development efforts.
- Attend industry events as needed.
- Review of marketing financials with operational leaders to align with business development efforts.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, marketing, communications, construction, or a related discipline or equivalent preferred but not required
- 10+ years of proven sales and business development experience within the construction industry, preferably electrical market segment
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Understand the construction process.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to successfully complete estimates from start to finish.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks to a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills internally and externally.
- Sharp negotiation, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Experience in project management a plus
- Sales growth techniques.
- Experience in customer service, networking and sales related fields.
- Ability to work with a team and independently.
- Educational background in business finance, marketing or construction.
Salary Range:
- $110,000/year - $150,000/year
- This is an exempt level position
