Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
SoLa Impact is seeking a highly dedicated Construction Development Intern to assist alongside SoLa's high-achieving team. In this internship, you will work alongside our construction and development team to support the planning and execution of multifamily housing projects. You will gain valuable experience in all aspects of construction development, from site acquisition to project completion.
- Duration: Monday, May 20th - Friday, August 23rd, 2024
- Location: The Beehive 961 E. 61st Street, Los Angeles, CA 90001
- Compensation: $17.00 per hour
- Schedule: 9:30am-3:30pm
- Flexible hours available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist in conducting market and feasibility analyses for potential development projects.
- Participate in site selection and acquisition activities, including property inspections and due diligence.
- Support the design and development of multifamily housing projects, including preparing project budgets and schedules, coordinating with architects and engineers, and obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
- Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Conduct research on emerging trends and best practices in affordable housing development and construction.
- Assist in preparing project status reports and presenting updates to the development team and other stakeholders.
- Participate in community engagement activities, including attending public meetings and events to promote our company and its projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of construction project management and affordable housing development is a plus.
