ORGANIZATION

The Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School (EMNRBS) is a charter, co-ed, tuition-free high school. With a total student body of 440 boys and girls, EMNRB seeks to foster a unique, innovative, hands-on learning environment. This school is the first specialty high school in the entire country for basketball, but NOT for the PLAYING of the game. The Founding Trustee, former NBA Commissioner David Stern, often said, “A Ball and a Book Can Change the World”. The EMNRB community promotes a commitment to excellence, social responsibility, high achievement, and rigorous programs that empower and inspire students and those who facilitate their learning. All students will be challenged and supported in their drive to achieve wisdom, service, community, and leadership journey.
