Substitute Teacher

As a Substitute Teacher with Teachers On Demand, you will play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of instruction and fostering a supportive learning environment for our students in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Responsibilities include delivering lessons and facilitating activities aligned with the Montessori curriculum, promoting student engagement and academic growth, and upholding the school's values of respect, compassion, and curiosity. Substitutes may work across various grade levels and subject areas, adapting instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students. Additionally, substitutes will collaborate with other staff members and follow established procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver lessons and facilitate learning activities in accordance with the Montessori curriculum and instructional plans provided by regular classroom teachers.
• Maintain a positive and nurturing classroom environment conducive to learning, emphasizing respect, courtesy, and compassion.
• Engage students in meaningful, hands-on experiences that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and academic achievement.
• Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior and classroom management, reinforcing AMS core values and promoting a culture of kindness and cooperation.
• Communicate effectively with school administrators, fellow staff members, and parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns or issues as they arise.
• Follow AMS policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety protocols, student supervision, and emergency procedures, to ensure the well-being of all students and staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Montessori certification preferred but not required).
• Valid substitute license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably in a Montessori or progressive school environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to collaborate with others in a dynamic educational community.

Compensation:

$200.00 per day
