Seeking a Medical Device Content Writer to join our Life Science US Team. This role will be responsible for the editing and some creation of medical device content.

Main Purpose

Help drive innovative solutions in the healthcare industry through a variety of technical writing deliverables, including for use, HCP-facing technical manuals, and software strings, as well as internal documentation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement complex content strategies to ensure consistent, harmonized, and compliant quality of content, considering version control and complex implementation strategies.
  • Participate in and sometimes facilitate meetings to explore solutions for content.
  • Write clear and concise procedures for use of medical devices.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of all business products and technologies, ensuring consistent voice and messaging across documentation.
  • Communicate effectively to build consensus among stakeholders and teams.
  • Understand stakeholder requirements and track to ensure all are met in outputs.
  • Plan and execute structured authoring using Component Content Management Systems.
  • Coordinate with team to manage and follow content style, tone guides, and glossaries, ensuring all-around consistency.
  • Gather and track necessary inputs to deliverables.
  • Provide timely and concise editorial input on instructions for use, documentation, and software strings.

Requirements

Educational background

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Content Strategy, Library Science, or equivalent experience required.

Professional background

  • Experience as a successful technical writer required.
  • Prior experience in working under regulatory and clinical restrictions is preferred.
  • Experience with structured authoring, especially XML-based, DITA, and Component Content Management Systems (CCMS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience participating in the iterative design process.
  • Prior experience with UX design process and software string writing preferred.
  • Some medical training or familiarity with medical devices a plus.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent overall writing skills in several different styles/tones
  • Great research, organizational, and learning skills
  • Consistent and succinct writing style
  • UX/UI writing for web app and mobile app, including instructions, tips, and micro copy
  • Ability to develop innovative, user-first content
  • Impeccable spelling and grammar
  • Investiment in building and improving effective best practices and processes
  • Strategic understanding of healthcare professional/patient needs
  • Technical proficiency with technical writing tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat at a minimum
  • Knowledge of best practices for writing documentation within the medical regulated industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of DITA schema preferred
  • Possess an entrepreneurial attitude and the ability to work with diverse global teams effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment individually and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with XML-based authoring software, such as oXygen or XMetaL a plus

Salary base range for this position is between $65K to $85K, dependent upon experience and physical location. This position is eligible for a variable compensation in addition to salary.
