Full Job Description
The Maintenance Assistant works under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of building and equipment supporting organizational goals and objectives. This position operates within SQF guidelines defining GMP standards for the safe production of food in the plant and offices i.e. within the standards of defined risk levels by area. This position operates within FDA, FSMA and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements defining food safety standards for the safe production of food in the plant and offices i.e. within the standards of defined risk levels by area.
Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Daily plant inspections of operating systems.
- Preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Provide backup to the Wastewater Operator position.
- Minor electrical and plumbing repairs and upgrades.
- Snow removal and salting of sidewalks.
- Light carpentry functions.
- Replacing of light bulbs and filters.
- Scraping, putting, and painting of walls, woodwork and fixtures.
- Assisting other departments as needed.
- Flexible shifts and occasional overtime.
- Other duties as assigned.
1st shift: 8am-4pm
Pay rate: $20/hr.

Requirements
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Two years previous building maintenance experience preferred.
