Full Job Description

The Associate Food Scientist – Applications works under the guidance of the Applications Manager on gaining the understanding of Butter Buds’ products, usage and application development in order to create new formulations to showcase ingredients in support of Butter Buds’ sales divisions, customer, brokers and distributors. This position operates within FDA, FSMA and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements defining food safety standards for the safe production of food in the plant and offices i.e. within the standards of defined risk levels by area.

Duties:

  • Develop technical expertise and leadership used to support internal and external customers, by learning BBI products, standard demos and Applications Directory, while following all company SOPs and GMPs.
  • Complete assignments by due dates, while communicating clear and correct results.
  • Perform daily bench top duties.
  • Document and record detailed project results, including but not limited to products utilized, dates, number of trials, results (whether favorable or a learning opportunity) and provide a monthly synopsis of projects.
  • Assist and participate in weekly tastings and document all findings.
  • Create accurate batch sheets for review.
  • Proactive creation and organization of a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assist in introductory presentations, open houses and training seminars to customers, brokers and distributors.
  • Accompany Applications team members while traveling domestically as needed.

1st shift: 8:00 AM -4:00 PM

Job Type: Direct Hire

Location: Racine, WI

Salary: 60K -70K + (Based on experience)

Requirements

Education: Degree in food science or related field of study.

Experience: Technical experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in the Applications industry. Looking for enzyme modification experience.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Advanced degree, experience with enzyme-modification a plus.
