NCG Associates is a reputable healthcare staffing agency dedicated to providing exceptional nursing professionals to healthcare facilities nationwide. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to join our travel team. As a Travel ICU RN at NCG Associates, you will have the opportunity to provide specialized and high-quality care to critically ill patients in various healthcare settings.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients' conditions and vital signs
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor and interpret patients' cardiac rhythms and other vital signs
- Provide advanced life support and interventions in emergency situations
- Perform various diagnostic tests and procedures
- Assist in the coordination and provision of patient education and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in critical care nursing practices and participate in continuing education
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Requirements
- Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an ICU setting
- Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles and practices
- Expertise in interpreting complex cardiac rhythms and administering advanced life support
- Advanced certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Flexibility to travel and work in various healthcare settings
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other relevant healthcare software
