Cybersecurity Program Technical Lead - Red Team Operations

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Cybersecurity Program Technical Lead to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer. The Cybersecurity Program Technical Lead will steer all technical aspects of a dynamic and exciting cybersecurity program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role will directly support the Program Manager in ensuring the successful execution of the program.

Duties

As a Cybersecurity Program Technical Lead supporting Maveris programs, you will be trusted to lead the delivery of our IT products and services. In this role, a typical day will include:  

• Lead all technical aspects of the program, including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of IT systems and solutions. 

• Serve as the deputy to the Program Manager, assisting with overall program management and acting as the primary point of contact in the Program Manager’s absence. 

• Ensure the technical integrity and quality of all deliverables, meeting customer requirements and organizational standards. 

• Oversee the development and execution of technical plans, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of technical solutions. 

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. 

• Coordinate and manage technical activities, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks. 

• Lead advanced offensive security assessments, including penetration testing, red teaming, and adversarial emulation exercises. 

• Develop and execute Red Team operations, including the creation of test plans and rules of engagement. 

• Perform technical reviews, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. 

• Support risk management activities by identifying potential technical risks and developing mitigation strategies. 

• Maintain positive relationships with key Government Points of Contact (POCs), responding to technical inquiries and concerns. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field – equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 10+ years of experience in technical leadership roles related to the delivery of IT systems and solutions, with a strong emphasis on advanced cybersecurity testing and assessments
• Proven experience in advanced offensive security assessments, including penetration testing and red teaming
• Certifications in offensive security, such as OSCP, OSCE, OSEE, OSWE, GPEN, GWAPT, or similar are preferred
• In-depth knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity principles, and industry best practices
• Experience with Agile project management methods and frameworks such as SCRUM and SAFe is preferred 
• Working knowledge of program/project management software (Microsoft Project, Jira, Microsoft 365/Teams applications, etc.)    
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a technical team
