Full Job Description
TPAPT, a national consortium of over 12,000 locally owned and operated Tutoring & College Advising Programs, is seeking an experienced History Tutor to join the team. As a Tutor you will help students in grades 9-12 with homework, study skills, and test preparation.
Primary Job Functions
● Tutor middle school grades in math and ELA in a virtual one-on-one setting and small
group
● Answer individual questions from drop-in students and teach middle school content as
needed during Virtual Village, Enhanced Prep’s free virtual homework help space
● Track student progress, assign homework and practice exams, and submit parent
updates for one-on-one students
● Manage multiple student programs simultaneously, communicate with students, parents,
and advisors, and lead student progress meetings
● Embrace a growth mindset and participate in ongoing professional development, as
directed by tutor managers
Responsibilities
- Provide remote tutoring sessions.
- Design and execute customized lesson plans for individual students.
- Administer practice exams and evaluate student progress.
- Collaborate with students' families to keep them apprised of student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of session details, scores, and student progress.
Requirements
- ● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- ● 3+ years of middle school tutoring and/or teaching experience (virtual, in-person,
- individual, and/or group settings)
- ● Comfort with tutoring English Language Learners and knowledge of how to support them
- ● Technological proficiency with virtual instruction including, familiarity with Zoom, digital
- annotation, Kami, Google Drive, and other online educational tools
- ● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- ● Ability to thrive in a virtual educational environment, including managing multiple student
- programs simultaneously, communicating with managers, students, and parents
- ● Be able to deliver high-quality, engaging virtual instruction
- ● Strong time and project management skills
- ● Passion for mentorship
- ● SAT/ACT tutoring experience a plus, but not required
