Position Description
The Sr. Staff Accountant will be responsible for Overhead Budget, Month-End Close; Federal, State and City Tax Payments; Bank Reconciliation; Fixed Asset Schedule; and Financial Reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Overhead Budget: Execute and maintain the Overhead Budget process, including monthly reporting to budget managers. Includes yearly budget review and forecasting each fall working with firm leadership.
- Month-End Close: Execute the month-end close process by preparing Balance Sheet and P&L workbooks. Research any issues and develop resolutions. Prepare journal entries as required for the reconciliation of all GL accounts. Support all financial audits.
- Federal, State and City Tax: Prepare and submit all federal, state and city tax returns for processing. Coordinate with the AP team for tax payments.
- Bank Reconciliation: Execute the monthly bank reconciliation process including review of all bank accounts and coordinating cash entries with the AP team.
- Fixed Asset Schedule: Maintain the Fixed Asset Schedule and coordinate payments with the AP Team for all equipment leases. Coordinate new equipment purchases with the Contracts Team and Budget Managers.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly reports – including Consolidated Balance Sheet/P&L, Revenue, Budget vs Actuals, and other accounting reports as requested.
Education/Skills/Experience:
- Accounting Degree or equivalent work-related experience
- 5 or more years of increasing experience in accrual-based accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Familiar with MS Office and intermediate Excel skills
- Experience with Deltek Vision system management and reporting a plus
Benefits
At the time of posting this job, the hiring range for this position in Seattle is between $100,000 and $115,000 annually. Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relatedness of the candidate’s education and experience and considering internal equity and external market factors.
