Full Job Description
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production workflow, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of specialized products that meet customer expectations. The role involves leading a skilled team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborating with key internal partners across sales, R&D, operations, and finance to maintain the vision of a world-class production operation.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with expertise in lean manufacturing, committed to driving innovation and efficiency. You will play a critical role in aligning production processes with business goals to support Radiant Vision Systems' mission of delivering industry-leading visual inspection solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the production team, overseeing schedules to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in lean manufacturing principles (e.g., single piece flow, standard work, visual management) to continuously drive improvements in efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production capacity and reduce waste while maintaining a zero-defect tolerance mindset.
- Build a high-performance culture by recruiting, retaining, and motivating a results-oriented team; ensure comprehensive cross-training across the team to maximize flexibility and responsiveness.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost control, and productivity meet or exceed targets.
- Collaborate with quality teams to verify that all received components meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes across production, enhance communication with internal departments, and ensure seamless execution of production goals.
- Lead efforts to design, test, and implement new processes, products, and features, partnering with R&D and operations to integrate innovative solutions.
- Leads Safety Team and Safety Team Projects & Programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Process Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of production management experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on lean manufacturing.
- Proven ability to identify and solve operational challenges proactively, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster cross-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing business needs.
- Results-driven, with a passion for excellence and a commitment to delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders.

Compensation Range | $90,000 to $110,000
This position is eligible for experience specific compensation ranges based on candidate experience, compensation will be aligned and determined based on this criteria. Fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience levels, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
