This individual will be essential in facilitating team operations, promoting cohesion, and enhancing program effectiveness through project management, team coordination, and knowledge management.

Position Highlights

Position Overview:

The Impact team strives to systemically address racism and racial and economic inequities by advancing work aligned with the three pillars of Seattle Foundation’s Blueprint for Impact: a just democracy, an equitable economy, and a resilient environment. As a member of the Impact team, the Operations Manager drives team operations, cohesion, and program effectiveness by providing project management, team coordination, and knowledge management. The organization will be migrating to a new IT system in September 2024; the Operations Manager will be instrumental in documenting procedures, building dashboards and reports, and training the Impact team on use of the new system. The Operations Manager will spend one third of their time supporting cross-team operations work, as supervised by the Director of Foundation Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Impact Team Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain oversight of efficient and effective processes for: team planning, discretionary grantmaking, civic action-related work, data analysis and reporting
  • Work with team leadership to strengthen team culture and cohesion. Lead, coordinate, and facilitate internal communications and team activities including team meetings, retreats, and trainings
  • Be team lead for IT systems; build and maintain grant application and reporting forms, perform due diligence on grants, provide training and technical support to team members
  • Collaborate with HR to manage hiring processes and onboarding of new Impact team staff
  • Provide administrative support for the Impact team, such as scheduling, invoice processing, meeting set-up, and appropriate follow-up
  • Manage external-facing inbox(es) and provide general technical assistance to community partners

Cross-Team Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-team operations staff in support of organization-wide planning, process documentation and implementation, and project management
  • In 2024, support organization rollout and team training for new IT system (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards in support of team and organization-wide needs. Complete routine data entry and data cleanup tasks
  • Serve as back up to other operations-focused roles across the organization

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of nonprofit operations experience
  • Experience centering equity in operations and grantmaking processes
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement processes; strong systems thinking skills
  • A keen attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to coordinate projects with a range of stakeholders
  • Goal oriented and proactive self-starter with ability to work independently and cross-functionally, and approach projects with a high degree of adaptability
  • Demonstrated ability to interact respectfully and cultivate relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, styles, and culture

  • Experience facilitating meetings or groups
  • Existing connections to community-based organizations in the Greater Seattle area

  • Hiring Range - $88,000 - $90,000 Annually; Full Range - $67,608 to $108,172
