Full Job Description
We will be testing for MSO positions in early May. Keep an eye on your email and Blink for an official announcement.
Testing will establish our candidates for backup MSO's, who will then be trained and able to pick up extra shifts, and then will fill full-time positions as they open.
External applicants who may be qualified for this role will be invited to come on board as an EMT prior to any full time MSO role being offered, if they pass the testing process. Understanding the daily operations of the company is an essential part of this role.
This role contributes to the daily operations of Northwest Ambulance by assisting the administration in completing tasks, supporting supervisory oversight, and ensuring unit coverage as assigned by the Battalion Chiefs. The MSO works closely with the Battalion Chiefs and is responsible for providing daily management and oversight of crews. The MSO must adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and Northwest Ambulance policies and procedures, while also serving as a role model for exemplary conduct.
· Assist the Battalion Chief with daily operations as required and delegated.
· Be available to assist field personnel with operational issues.
· During large scale events, be familiar with and able to assist the fire department as part of the incident command system.
· Manage any on-duty BBP/ABP exposures.
· Provide support, guidance, and training to field crews.
· Demonstrate leadership through effective communication, problem-solving, and proactive conflict resolution for field crews.
· Cover dispatch issues when the Dispatch Manager is not available.
· Support the management team in organizational changes and participate in their development, implementation, and evaluation to drive overall agency improvement.
· Ensure all field crews comply with company policies and procedures, including housekeeping standards, uniform adherence, response times, safe driving standards, EPCR standards, as well as maintaining a professional attitude and conduct.
· Respond to staffing needs such as sick calls, emergencies, or other issues, and adjust staffing levels accordingly to meet daily requirements.
· Assist in reviewing EPCRs for completion and accuracy, and provide coaching to field crews for improvement.
· Provide insights to support services teams to ensure timely and adequate attention to ambulances, equipment, and buildings.
· Assist in training and evaluating new hires.
· Assist as needed in maintaining proper and accurate supplies for all units and facilities.
Maintain constant communication with leadership and complete detailed daily passdowns for smooth shift transitions.

Education and Experience:
At least one year EMT experience at Northwest Ambulance preferred.
Prior management experience preferred
Must possess and maintain a Washington State DOH Emergency Medical Technician certificate
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
Position requires varying times sitting; either driving or carrying out tasks at a desk.
Position requires full range of motion. Movements include but are not limited to: standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pulling and pushing, lifting, and grasping.

Wages:
A promotion to MSO includes a 12% increase from the candidates base EMT pay. EMT base pay starts at $24/hour and incoming EMTs will be given credit for past years of experience.
