Harco Fittings LLC, founded in 1966 in Lynchburg, Virginia is a producer of gasketed joint injection-molded PVC and push-on gasketed joint ductile fittings. We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Maintenance Technician - Entry Level. This role is based in our facility in Bellingham, WA and reports to the Plant Manager. This position will start at $28.00 per hour.
Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic individual who will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and overhaul of mechanical systems used in production. The selected individual will focus primarily on the general upkeep, repair, preventative maintenance and safe operation of an assigned area and the equipment operating within.
Principal Responsibilities
- Understanding of basic mechanisms such as gears, motors, and vacuum systems
- Have good communication skills, able to follow verbal and written instructions and follow procedures.
- Understand basic electricity, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Troubleshoot equipment as assigned by manager/supervisor
- Perform fleet maintenance on forklifts and other power industrial equipment
- Experience reading technical manuals to understand equipment controls
- Accurately read and use measuring tools
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment start to finish
- Comfortable working in a fast pace environment
- Conduct preventative maintenance to keep machinery in operation
- Safety and quality conscious
- Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and ask questions if something is unclear
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or certificate of completion is preferred
- Experience in forklift operation and other machines or equipment is an asset
- Basic mechanical knowledge and electrical troubleshooting skills are required.
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills coupled with an eagerness to learn
- Great teammate with a proven track record to contribute to and cultivate a positive work environment
- Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
Working Conditions
- Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to a maximum of 70 lbs.
