Full Job Description
A partner company is seeking an Insurance Sales Agent I for their Battle Ground, WA branch. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a competitive salary range and a commission structure. The position involves advising clients on insurance policies and cross-selling based on identified needs, directly impacting the core purpose of improving members' financial lives. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Advise, service, and cross-sell insurance policies to protect individuals and businesses from financial loss.
- Seek out new clients and develop clientele through referrals, networking, marketing, cold-calling, and lead databases.
- Adhere to rules and regulations outlined by various insurance companies and the Washington State Insurance Commissioner.
- Customize insurance programs to suit individual clients, covering various risks.
- Interview prospective clients to obtain data about their financial resources and needs, as well as discuss existing coverage.
- Explain features, advantages, and disadvantages of various policies to promote the sale of insurance plans.
- Obtain price quotes and process applications, matching policies for clients with companies that offer the best rates and coverage.
- Calculate premiums and establish payment methods.
- Issue binders as requested by mortgagees and loss payees on behalf of member customers.
- Call on policyholders to deliver and explain policies, analyze insurance programs, and suggest additions or changes.
- Inspect property to determine insurance risk and examine general conditions.
- Process and monitor insurance claims in a timely manner, ensuring fair settlements for both the client and insurer.
- Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining records, handling policy renewals, and processing payments.
- Develop working relationships with branch staff and provide feedback on referrals and appointments.
- Assist with business development and sales generation through target marketing, seminars, branch displays, newsletters, and member referrals.
- Provide on-going support to insurance clients as needed.
- Complete continuing education requirements and maintain an active insurance license.
- Conduct branch-level product and referral training sessions as needed.
- Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position.
- Actively participate in the Email Security Awareness Program.
Requirements
- One to three years of similar or related experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Property & Casualty License.
- Life & Health License.
