History Tutor, Grades 9-12, (Remote)

TPAPT, a national consortium of over 12,000 locally owned and operated Tutoring & College Advising Programs, is seeking an experienced History Tutor to join the team. As a Tutor you will help students in grades 9-12 with homework, study skills, and test preparation.

Primary Job Functions

• Tutor history subjects of all levels (middle and high school, regular, honors, and AP) in a virtual one-on-one setting and small group
• Answer individual questions from drop-in students and teach history content as needed in our virtual drop in tutoring center
• Track student progress, assign homework and practice exams, and submit parent updates for one-on-one students
• Manage multiple student programs simultaneously, communicate with students, parents, and advisors, and lead student progress meetings
• Embrace a growth mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide remote tutoring sessions.
• Design and execute customized lesson plans for individual students.
• Administer practice exams and evaluate student progress.
• Collaborate with students' families to keep them apprised of student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of session details, scores, and student progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Demonstrable teaching or tutoring ability (3+ years) relating to the academic subject(s) and grade levels listed in the job post
• Strong interpersonal and clear communication skills.
• Ability to develop customized lesson plans for individual students.
• Flexible schedule, able to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Ability to work independently and remotely, as needed.
• Self-motivated and committed to helping students succeed.
