We offer business-to-business support services for independent therapy and psychiatric private practices, simplifying lead-generation, marketing, insurance billing, and payment collection processes. With over 1300 mental health providers and 20,000 patients per week across 12 locations and virtually via Telehealth in 5 states, we are committed to growth, transparency, and making an impact in mental health services. 

About the Role: 

Mindful Support Services is actively seeking a detail-oriented and organized Healthcare Billing Manager to be a part of a fast-growing, collaborative team. The Healthcare Billing Manager is responsible for ensuring timely claims resolution and AR reduction by providing effective supervision and management of on-site and remote insurance AR team members. You will lead a team of AR specialists, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of insurance collection processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in insurance billing, strong analytical skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional results while leading and motivating a team around them.   

Requirements

  • Lead, mentor and supervise a team of insurance account receivables specialists, providing guidance, training and performance feedback to ensure productivity and effectiveness. 
  • Establish clear goals, objectives and performance metrics for the AR team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.  
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices for billing, collections and accounts receivable management in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.  
  • Oversee the reconciliation of insurance payments, adjustments, and denials, ensuring accurate posting and resolution of discrepancies.  
  • Maintain effective communication with insurance carriers, third party payors, vendors, providers, and clients to facilitate prompt and accurate payment processing and resolve payment disputes.  
  • Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable performance, key metrics, and trends to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement and opportunities for revenue optimization.  
  • Assist staff in reaching benchmark metrics by responding to more complex questions and problems and driving the resolution of client and provider questions.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and adaptability within the AR team, encouraging creative problem-solving and embracing change to drive operational excellence.   

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (finance, business administration, or healthcare administration preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate, coach and develop a high-performing team.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance billing, research and reimbursement processes, including Medicare, commercial insurance and third-party payer requirements.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance regulations, HIPAA and other relevant laws and standards.
