Position Summary

The Systems Analyst will focus on expanding the use of Salesforce across departments as Inatai implements a new Salesforce instance to support key business functions, including the foundation’s grantmaking processes, communications, operations management, and CRM data and information. The Systems Analyst will collaborate across multiple teams at Inatai, contributing to our culture of service to both our teammates and grantees. As well, the Systems Analyst will work to continually refine the foundation’s Salesforce system and grantmaking process to further embody the foundation’s values.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Inatai is proud to be a statewide organization and we know there are talented leaders everywhere in our state. As we grow and learn, we know that we are better partners to communities and more strategic grantmakers when we have team members rooted in place and bringing their lived and learned experiences to our work. We are prioritizing the following geographies to ensure we are fully living up to our commitments to geographic equity. 

  • The Olympic Peninsula, with special attention to Jefferson, Clallam, and Grays Harbor counties
  • North Central Washington, with special attention to Douglas, Chelan, Okanogan, and Kittitas counties
  • North Eastern Washington, with special attention to Pend Oreille, Stevens, Ferry and Lincoln counties

In addition to these regions, we would like to give priority to candidates based in Adams, Asotin, Cowlitz, Lewis, Mason, Skagit, Skamania, and Whitman counties.

We currently have offices in Seattle and Pasco. Team members connected to an office will work in the office at least three days per week, while team members not connected to an office will work remotely.

Periodic early morning, evening, and weekend hours will be required, and statewide and regional travel should be expected. All employees participate in our offsite retreats, often requiring travel and overnight stays.

Primary Responsibilities

Salesforce Administration

  • Support end-users with ongoing business processes by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving problems with Salesforce configuration, workflows, processes, and/or integrations
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and configuration tasks in Salesforce, including coordinating and undertaking testing of regular system updates and vendor releases
  • Maintain usability of Inatai’s portal where grantseekers and grantees interact with the foundation
  • Manage and troubleshoot bugs and system malfunctions reported by users, including submitting helpdesk tickets to Salesforce or other parties, and track items through to resolu
  • Liaise with software vendors to implement enhancements and bug fixes, as required
  • Implement and maintain Salesforce platform integrations, including Conga, DocuSign, and Sage Intacct
  • Develop and maintain complete system documentation detailing configuration decisions
  • Setup, maintain, and regularly review users, security settings, profiles, permission sets, and other system security settings/requirements, including provisioning staff and applicant/grantee user accounts

System and Process Improvements

  • Perform discovery around new business needs, including documenting requirements, business process workflows, and customization specifications for development
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings to gather information from stakeholders about emerging user needs
  • Optimize the system’s usability and design to ensure grant and CRM information is accessible and transparent across Inatai

Data Analysis and Reporting

  •  Monitor and maintain data quality and socialize data quality standards with users through drafted materials and direct training
  • Support grants data analysis, including producing reports and developing dashboards for the presentation of grant information, e.g., operational performance indicators such as processing times and volume analyses
  • Prepare grant-related schedules/reports for finance, audit, and tax purposes
  • Rapidly respond to inquiries from Inatai staff for data on grants and sponsorships

 Management, Systems Training, and Other Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct onboarding/ongoing system training for all users, including Inatai staff, grant seekers, and grantees
  • Produce training materials and write technical instructions as required
  • Provide management support and mentoring to staff
  • Regularly participate in Grantmaking Operations team meetings to ensure system functionality meets user needs

Requirements

  • A deep commitment to equity and social justice and strong alignment with our organizational values 
  • Ability to authentically connect the Foundation’s mission and aspirations with one’s own experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships and work effectively and respectfully with politically, ideologically, culturally, and geographically diverse people and communities
  • At least three years of experience supporting Salesforce, with at least five years in a nonprofit and/or grantmaking organization
  • Experience working with users across multiple departments and configuring Salesforce to meet cross-departmental needs and varied business use cases
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Significant experience cleaning, analyzing, visualizing, and presenting data and mapping process workflows. Strong sense of how to depict data to show trends and tell stories
  • Strong knowledge of project management approaches and adept at using software and tools to plan, prioritize, and track project phases and assignments; Monday.com experience is a plus
  • Experience training staff to use systems, including strong technical writing skills, and the ability to develop useful learning tools and training materials

 

Benefits

Salary ranges are set according to an explicit compensation policy, and relevant data are reviewed when setting ranges for each position. The salary range for this position is $98,000-$120,000. A compensation enhancement is provided to employees with indigenous or advanced language proficiency in more than one language that they utilize to advance the Foundation’s work across Washington.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes fully paid medical/dental/vision coverage for employees and dependent children (and partial coverage for partners and spouses), a 10% retirement contribution, generous time off (29 days of flexible paid time off, five paid holidays, and a year-end office closure from December 25 to January 1), paid family and medical leave (12 to 18 weeks), a transit pass (where available), and support for ongoing professional development.
