Exciting Opportunity: Geologist Position in Everett, Washington

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Geologist to join our team in Everett, Washington. If you have a keen interest in studying the Earth's crust and are excited about making impactful discoveries, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate the Earth's composition, structure, and history.
  • Identify and locate mineral, petroleum deposits, and underground water resources through rock, mineral, and fossil examination.
  • Create and interpret geological maps and reports.
  • Measure seismic, volcanic, electromagnetic, and gravitational activities.
  • Provide geological assessments and advice to government and construction companies.
  • Oversee and manage contractors.
  • Stay updated with the latest geological theories and principles.
  • Conduct field sampling and analysis using standard techniques.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and execute geology projects (e.g., oil extraction, water pipe construction) and field sampling events.
  • Survey sites and create logs and maps using GIS technology.
  • Collect and analyze geological data.
  • Coordinate research programs and examine sample compositions.
  • Utilize instruments (e.g., X-rays) to measure and test fossils, rocks, soil, and ores.
  • Produce detailed reports on findings.
  • Conduct quality control on construction materials and inspect projects.
  • Evaluate natural resource deposits and consult on geology-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and other regulations in construction and production projects.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a geologist.
  • Proficiency in geological techniques such as mining, boring, and numerical modeling.
  • Experience with geology software (e.g., ArcGIS, Rockware) and data modeling tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, GoCAD).
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Strong understanding of ores, soil, minerals, and other materials.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong organizational and teamwork abilities.
  • Degree in Geology or Geoscience.
