Job Summary
As a Maintenance Technician - Independent Contractor for FreeUp Storage (Check out our website here!), you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and operation of a self-storage facility. This position will be in the Black Diamond, WA area. Managers utilize strong interpersonal skills while interacting with customers, assisting them in identifying storage needs while providing real-time, cost-effective solutions. Resolving issues, answering questions and providing general information regarding our company and policies are included in daily responsibilities. Managers are active during the day, taking time to inspect, clean out and prepare units for lease, while maintaining the property grounds and buildings. Ensuring the highest standard of quality in cleanliness, safety and visual appearance is a priority.
Requirements
Key Results:
- Inspect property 4 times a week to maintain high cleanliness and upkeep standards, ensuring all areas are presentable and functional.
- Achieve 97% availability of vacant units by streamlining cleaning and repairs, using daily inspection checklists to ensure security and rentability, and swiftly resolving issues in unrentable units.
- Foster strong tenant relationships to generate 5+ positive Google reviews monthly through active engagement and prompt feedback responses.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, welcoming in a friendly and professional manner
- Handle phone and in person inquiries
- Identify facility needs and submit orders through the proper channels
- Clean and prepare units to be ready to rent

- Business Acumen – Ability to research and understand state lien laws to stay up to date with local and state requirements

Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- HVAC experience is preferred
- Electrical experience is preferred
- Must be able to handle and operate power equipment
Benefits
This is an independent contractor role, offering $20-$22/hour.
