EPIC Early Learning is excited to announce an opening for the position of Early Head Start Home Visitor. As a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing early childhood educational services in Central Washington for over 35 years, EPIC's mission is to empower children and families to achieve their full potential through nurturing relationships and high-quality education.

As an Early Head Start Home Visitor, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with infants and toddlers and their families in their homes. You will be responsible for implementing the Early Head Start curriculum in a home-based setting and fostering positive family engagement to promote the child's development. Your role is pivotal in guiding parents to enhance their children's learning and growth through everyday interactions.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and family support, and who is committed to helping families access necessary resources to achieve their individual goals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver required services utilizing the Early Head Start home visiting model, involving a minimum of one 90-minute home visit per week, two socializations per month, and one family night per month.
  • Work with pregnant woman and their families utilizing program curricula and EHS performance standars to promote a position birth outcome.
  • Utilize the Early Head Start curriculum to plan and implement home visits that support child development and school readiness
  • Build strong relationships with families and provide ongoing support to foster a positive home learning environment
  • Conduct regular assessments of child and family needs, developing individualized plans to support growth and development
  • Facilitate family engagement in the child's learning process and encourage parental involvement in educational activities
  • Connect families with community resources and services to address their unique needs
  • Document and report on family progress and outcomes, ensuring accurate records of all interactions
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and team meetings
  • Ensure compliance with program policies, procedures, and Head Start performance standards
  • Be committed to characterizing a culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses, and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPIC's culture of "See Something, Say Something".

Requirements

  • AA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or an equivalent combination of experience and Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate which demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to work with infants, toddlers, and their families with a Professional Development Plan to have an AA in ECE.
  • Commit to a Professional Development Plan to obtain a BA in ECE.
  • Experience working with families in a home visiting, social services, or early childhood setting
  • Teo years of demonstrated experience working with low-income families in an Early childhood, social service, or health setting.
  • Understanding of child development principles and strategies for supporting parent-child interactions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with families, colleagues, and community resources
  • Knowledge of community resources available for families
  • Bilingual/ Bi-literate in English and Spanish is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with data entry and reporting

Pay Level

$23.78 to $28.06 per Hour (Year-round position)

Conditions of Employment:

  1. Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, TB skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
  2. Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee).
  3. Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
  4. Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
  5. Current Food Handlers card (obtain the training within 30 days of employment).
  6. Current First Aid/CPR card (obtain within 30 days of employment).
  7. Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
  8. Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards.
  9. Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
  10. CEO Approval.
