Director of Nursing -Mental Health

The Director of Nursing - Mental Health is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the nursing department of a mental health facility. This individual will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, managing nursing staff, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing department
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care
• Recruit, hire, and train nursing staff
• Evaluate the performance of nursing staff and provide feedback
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in mental health nursing
• Advocate for the needs of patients and their families
• Represent the nursing department to the administration and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mental health nursing
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in mental health nursing
