Bridge33 Capital is a rapidly growing, vertically integrated real estate private equity firm focused on open-air retail real estate. The Company recently raised $458 MM in its latest opportunistic fund, marking a key milestone for the company.
We are seeking a CONTROLLER who is responsible for leading all aspects of the property accounting function, including financial reporting, process and procedures, control policies, team management and leadership. This position reports to the Senior Director of Finance. This is an in-person role based in our Seattle office. Come make your mark as an integral part of Bridge33 Capital!

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all aspects of property accounting and financial reporting on an accrual basis, ensuring adherence to GAAP.
- Build process, procedures and control policies for the property accounting team. Manage, iterate and train the team for these process and procedures. A deep knowledge of property accounting Standard Operating Procedures is critical to this role.
- Manage property accounting functions including billing, common area maintenance (CAM), financial statements, general ledger, job cost accounting, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, revenue recognition, financial metrics reporting and analysis.
- Lead, manage, and engage the property accounting team to meet and exceed outlined objectives, maintain production levels, adhere to service timelines, and deliver high-quality results.
- Assist in the accounting, budgeting, and closing processes during asset purchases and sales, verifying accounting practices and overseeing general ledger activity.
- Develop a deep understanding of the operations and economics of the entities accounted for, including the nuances of lease agreements.
- Identify, design, and implement methods for streamlining accounting operations, enhancing revenue collections, and improving cross-functional interactions.
- Create, implement, and monitor company policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate and work with other business units including fund accounting, asset management, and property management to continuously resolve issues and answer relevant questions related to assets.
- Ensure compliance with lender covenants and requirements for financial reporting.
- Design, establish, and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Manage and oversee lease audits through internal processes and collaboration with third-party providers.
- Oversee the management and optimization of the Yardi accounting system, ensuring it meets property accounting and reporting needs.
- Oversee internal and external audits related to property accounting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the property accounting, cash management and lease administration teams including hiring, training, and coaching, managing performance, assigning and directing work, problem solving, corrective action, succession planning and ensuring team metrics are established and met.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 10 years of experience in retail property accounting, with experience as a Controller or similar role.
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field is required.
- Certified Public Accountant license is preferred but not required.
- Outstanding knowledge of accounting, finance, budgeting, property accounting standard operating procedures, cost accounting, control policies, and GAAP.
- Analytical ability to develop and implement procedure and process improvements and recommendations.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills across all internal business units, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead team members.

- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficient Excel skills required and familiarity with Google productivity tools and deep knowledge of Yardi Voyager.

The annual salary range for this role is $150,000 - $220,000 and the role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
