Requirements

Assistant Controller: This is where you come in. 

We’re looking for an Assistant Controller to partner closely with our Controller to provide effective financial and accounting support to MacMiller. You will be integral to developing financial policies, streamlining processes, and managing and assisting in the accounting team’s professional growth. You will also be expected to meet performance standards set by management and to comply with all company policies and procedures.  In return for achieving aggressive goals, you’ll get rewarded with more to own, a ton of growth opportunities, and more freedom than you’ve probably ever had.   

Top deliverables for the first year to be a hero: 

  • Managing General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, inclusive of supervision, direction and fostering a collaborative environment. 
  • Assist in the facilitation of the month-end close process including preparation of journal entries, financial statements, financial reports and supporting analyses, including meaningful commentary to explain results to various levels within the organization.   
  • Collaborate with Controller and management team in preparing annual budget and periodic forecast updates as required. 
  • Work closely with business unit leaders across the organization to understand financial needs, provide insights, and support strategic initiatives. 

The Assistant Controller role reports to Jennifer Richmond - Controller, on a collaborative team working on a variety of projects and initiatives to support our growing business. This highly visible role interacts with all levels and functions within the organization. 

Your Background: What kind of person will thrive in this role? 

You should have… 

  • A track record of analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports, statements and projections. 
  • This includes creating spreadsheets, explaining variances, identifying issues, and making appropriate recommendations. 
  • Advanced knowledge of complex features of Microsoft Excel, required. 
  • Expertise and continued education of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of accounting experience; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred.

Benefits

Compensation: $110,000 to $140,000 annually
